This is an optional extension. If your stock-holding varies dramatically from one period to the next, a lower premium is applied (75% of the sum insured) under this clause. At the end of the period of insurance a pro rata premium will be charged or deducted based on your actual stock-holding. You are required to submit in writing to the insurer the market value of your stock at the end of each month/quarter as stated in your schedule.

The sum insured for buildings and machinery at the onset of the insurance will be incrementally increased every month by the percentage specified in your schedule. The additional premium charged for this will be 50% of the normal premium

By what percentage would you like the cover to increase annually?

Selecting this extension covers theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry/exit of the premises or accompanied by violence or threats of violence to your staff is covered. No violence equals no claim!

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of damage at the premises of unspecified suppliers. The damage at their premises must be as a result of one of the insured perils covered in your policy. i.e.fire, lightning, explosion. Unspecified suppliers excludes suppliers of water, electricity, and gas.

If another property within a 10km radius of the premises is damaged and this prevents you from gaining access to the premises, the insurer will indemnify you for the loss. This is regardless of whether your premises is damaged or not.

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of damage at the premises of your customers. The damage at their premises must be as a result of one of the insured perils covered in your policy. i.e.fire, lightning, explosion.

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of damage at electricity substations, gasworks, water purification plants, etc. The damage at their premises must be as a result of one of the insured perils covered in your policy. i.e.fire, lightning, explosion.

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of damage at the property of a public authority supplying you with telecommunications. The damage at their premises must be as a result of one of the insured perils covered in your policy. i.e.fire, lightning, explosion.

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of the total or partial failure of the public supply of water, gas, or electricity to your premises. The failure of the public supply shall be 'deemed' to have been caused by damage from one of the insured perils. This cover excludes interruption caused by drought, pollution of water, shortage of fuel or water, a fault on your installation, the actions of a legal authority withholding or restricting usage, or as a result of one of the exceptions (War, nuclear, etc). If the interruption is caused by electrical, mechanical, or electronic breakdown the interruption must exceed 24 hours before a claim can be submitted.

This covers you against any loss resulting from the interruption of your business because of the total or partial failure of the public authority to supply telecommunications to your premises. The failure of the public supply shall be 'deemed' to have been caused by damage from one of the insured perils. This cover excludes interruption by drought, a fault on your installation, the actions of a legal authority withholding or restricting usage, or as a result of one of the exceptions (War, nuclear, etc). If the interruption is caused by electrical, mechanical, or electronic breakdown the interruption must exceed 24 hours before a claim can be submitted.

If a damage claim is successfully submitted under the 'accidental damage' section of your policy and it interrupts your business this clause will allow you to claim under the business interruption section.

This provides cover for selected employees only - usually those most at risk for fraud! The employees can be insured either by their name or by their position

This extension applies to defined events insured under the fidelity section of your insurance but which occurred under any insurance superseded (replaced) by this section. If you agree to pay a voluntary excess (over and beyond the standard excess) it will lead to a lower premium being quoted.

This reinstates the full insured amount after a claim has been submitted.

This extension covers the costs and expenses (up to a limit and incurred with the consent of the insurer) for the recovery/attempted recovery from the employee any part of the loss exceeding the sum insured under the fidelity section.

This extension removes the exception which states that the insurer is not liable where the employee dishonestly manipulates or alters your computer programs or software. It also waives the computer losses excess which is payable

This extension (for an additional payment) alters the discovery period (Fraud or dishonesty must be discovered within 24 months of its occurrence) to 36 months. This also applies to the superseded extension discussed above.

This extension removes the discovery period (Fraud or dishonesty must be discovered within 24 months of its occurrence) if a satisfactory audit (by the accounting firm indicated on your schedule) is conducted on your control systems as well as your theft detection system. This is subject to you implementing and maintaining all the recommendations contained in the audit. This also applies to the superseded extension discussed above.

For the payment of an additional premium, any person named in this extension is covered for damage caused while the vehicle is used socially.

In the event of you being held liable for damages to a customer's vehicle then, for an additional payment, the insurer will indemnify you against all other sums that you will become legally liable to pay as compensation for loss of use of the customers vehicle.

For an additional premium the unauthorised use of the vehicle by an employee (or any person in collusion with them) is covered.

For an additional premium the insurer will indemnify the person using the vehicle against legal liability for negligence as long as they are not driving the vehicle or under the influence of drugs at the time. An example would be a driving instructor accompanying a learner driver or a salesman accompanying a prospective customer!

For the payment of an additional premium the insurer will indemnify you for death or injury to any passenger on a motorcycle, scooter, or side car.

For an additional premium the insurer will indemnify you under this insurance where a motorcycle is driven for tuition or demonstration purposes by a person not accompanied by you or an employee.
