It was only a matter of time before it happened.
The bloody idiot tailgating you – and talking on his cellphone – rammed into the back of your car!
Your car is now:
- Jamming the traffic,
- Other drivers are gaping at you as they drive past,
- Taxis are hooting and waving their arms at you, and worst of all…
- The blinking tow truck driver is trying to con you into letting him tow your car away.
How on earth are you going to get to work?
How will you know whether this tow truck driver is approved by your insurance company?
Well, Discovery Insure has already thought of all that.
This is how it works when your car needs towing…
First thing you need to do is:
- Call Discovery Insure (0860 999 911), or
- Press the panic button on your smartphone
Discovery Insure will then immediately arrange for you to be fetched AND taken to your destination by Avis car hire.
Avis then arranges for a courtesy car to be delivered to your destination of choice (did I mention that you don’t pay for this car hire?).
Discovery Insure will then ensure that your car is towed to one of their approved panelbeaters.
Once your car is fully repaired, there’s no having to fetch it at the panelbeaters, while still driving the Avis rent a car (It’s always a hassle to find someone willing to drive the rental back, isn’t it?).
All you have to do is return your hire car to Avis, and while there, pick up your repaired one!
But what if your car’s still driveable?
Simple!
- Take a photo of the damage to your vehicle on your smartphone, and send it to Discovery Insure via the Discovery Insure smartphone application.
- Call Discovery Insure (0860 999 911) and they’ll tell you to which Avis branch you need to take your vehicle to
- Avis will provide you with a rental until your vehicle is repaired. (Take note that this isn’t 30 day car hire – like other insurers – where the car needs to be returned at the end of the 30 days…even if your car is still at the panelbeaters!).
- Collect your car at Avis when its repaired
Now doesn’t this – to borrow the words of Discovery Insure – sound like a smart move?
